Brantford provides matching grants of 50% up to $20,000 for renovation work on designated heritage properties. That is one of the higher municipal ceilings in Ontario, and considerably more generous than most communities of comparable size.
Timing matters here. Council funds the program at $50,000 annually from the Cultural and Built Heritage Reserve, committed for 2025, 2026 and 2027. At a $20,000 maximum, that pool supports only a handful of substantial projects each year. Apply early in the cycle.
